One Woman Isn't Enough

In 1990, Adel Imam, an Egyptian comedy actor, refused to participate in a movie just because the director was a woman. He said he couldn't accept being directed by a woman.
The movie was called 'One woman isn't enough'. It was about a man who worked as a journalist. He fell in love with 3 women at the same time. At the end of the movie, he had to travel abroad to be treated after a failed attempt to kill him by one of his enemies. He left messages for the 3 women telling them he loved the three of them but he couldn't choose only one of them.

The movie, though its director was a woman, embedded the common idea in Arab communities, and maybe in other communities as well, that a man needs more than one woman. Most men support their opinions by citing verses from the Quran which allow men to have 4 wives. They say God gave permission to them to marry more than one woman because he knew that one woman wouldn't be enough for the sexual and emotional needs of a man.
