Accepting Mindset

This discussion about accepting mindset reminded me of a tweet of Mido, an Egyptian ex-footballer, which caused a lot of fuss. He posted a photo of his wife wearing a sleeveless short dress with the caption, "My love". People criticized him and called him names, since they thought his wife's dress wasn't appropriate according to their society's traditions.

These kinds of people aren't willing to accept that there are others who don't follow the same conservative ideas or apply the same social and religious rules as them. They mix religion with everything else, they can't understand that for some individuals, religion doesn't interfere with other aspects of their lives. Living in the same country and identifying with the same general religious code doesn't mean that all people apply that code in the same way.
