Minimization
During my college days, I had a Christian fellow with whom I used to attend lectures and later we would go to the university residence's restaurant to have lunch together. We ate the same food, the only difference was that she didn't pick up chicken or beef pieces during their fasting period. I used to drop by her room from time to time, though some conservative Muslims criticized me for doing that.
For me, the religious difference wasn't a big deal at all. It didn't mean I minimized these differences but I believed that it was ok to believe in something different. What I cared about was that we respected each other, and we didn't take into consideration how the others bullied us, just for believing in different religions.
