I came across a comment saying that Cockney Rhyming slang was originally a kind of code that was used by criminals.
I read that there was something similar to this in some folk areas in Cairo. People have invented a kind of code so that the police can't understand them. However, the technique is rather different. When you want to say a word, you remove the first letter and replace it with the 'س' in Arabic, which sounds like the S in English. Then, you say a word starting with the letter you removed from the first one.
For instance, if you want to say Michael, replace the M with S, so it's Sichael (cycle!!). Secondly, say any word with the letter M, let's say Marshmello. In this way, you get Cycle Marshmello, instead of Michael.
